Webinar: Understanding Required Minimum Distributions and Beneficiary Options
Join RITA for our upcoming webinar, "Understanding Required Minimum Distributions and Beneficiary Options."
When an individual reaches the age of 73, Traditional, SEP, and SIMPLE IRA holders are required to distribute a portion of their IRA called a "Required Minimum Distribution" (or RMD). Failure to distribute this minimum amount can equate to a penalty. Upon the death of an IRA holder, beneficiaries are also subject to the same required minimum distribution rules. Unaware of what their options are, financial institutions are faced with having to explain to a beneficiary their options.
After attending this course, you will understand:
- How an RMD is calculated
- The penalty for failure to distribute an RMD
- A beneficiary’s options on how to delay taxation on their inherited retirement plan
- Death reporting requirements
- And more!
The webinar will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 4:00 pm ET.
You will be able to ask your questions during this 1 hour webinar, which will give you 1 credit of continuing education credits for the RITA Self-Directed Industry Professional (SDIP) certification.
Hope you can join us!
